Home for sale

I'm sad and excited to say that we're selling our home.  I'm sad because this is our first home together, and we've made a lot of memories here.  We're proud of all the renovating that we successfully accomplished.  We think it's a pretty cute home in a great neighborhood.  We will miss our sweet neighbors.  If you know of anyone looking for a cute 3/2 in Vestavia, please send them our way.  If we find a buyer, we have a lot to build on in Ross Bridge.

Orange Beach

So much fun!

Our sweet friends, Cayce and Andrea, invited us to go down to Orange Beach with them for a weekend.  Even Bentley was invited!  We just love the beach!  I wish I could live there.  The weather was gorgeous, and of course no traffic since it's fall.  We took the dogs down to Fort Morgan to play, and Bentley had the best time!  He hasn't been to the beach since he was a puppy, so it was fun to watch him play in the sand and water.  We had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather and some fun football games.

Bentley is famous!

When we took Bentley to my 5K run at Veteran's Park, we met a lady who runs a website for labs.  She just loved Bentley, so she took a picture and made him "Lab of the Month"!  I love it!

Burnt Orange

That was the headline in the Knoxville News Sentinel after Auburn beat Tennessee. Away games are so much fun, especially when we win. I was so proud of our team to come out of that stadium at night with a win. So the streak continues to five in a row against Tennessee!

We tailgated with my family, and we even put up with all the UT decorations and cups, and yes even their own special beer. My brother, David took us to see the new basketball practice facility, where Mark was able to show off some serious skills. Yes, that is my dad in the background making fun of him.

Then we went to Tiger Walk. Kiffin tried to tell us we couldn't have Tiger Walk there, so that only inspired our fans. We had Tiger Walk there in 2004, but there were more than double the number of fans there this time. Unfortunately our players didn't actually get to walk and the band wasn't allowed, but it was still fun to support our team!

The game was fun even though we were surrounded by UT fans. We just laughed while they booed their quarterback. My brother was a sore loser and refused to take a good picture of us. We had a great time on our visit and thanks to my family for hosting!! We'll see you in Auburn in four years... for another Tiger victory!

Birthday Boy

Bentley turned 6 years old on September 27th!!  We can't believe it has been six years since that adorable little puppy came into our lives.  He has filled the last six years with laughter and fun adventures!  He is the BEST!

His birthday was Sunday, but we had friends come over for the Auburn vs. Ball State game on Saturday.  Bentley's friends Lily and Guinness came over to play while we watched the game.  They had the best time playing together!  Then on his real birthday, Bentley enjoyed a nice refreshing bath, doggie ice cream, and his favorite people food, watermelon!!!  Later that night, he got to unwrap his present, a rawhide bone!  He's pretty easy to please since he loves to unwrap any present.  It's tradition for him to have a birthday picture taken each year, so here are some from this year.
The happy birthday boy!

Daddy and B-dawg are best friends!
I love you, Buddy!
Unwrapping is more than half the fun!

Winning Weekends

Fall is here, which means FOOTBALL!!!  It is always so much fun going back to Auburn.  We feel at home each time we step out of the car there.  We both have such wonderful memories from our time in Auburn, and we still wish we could go back and do it all over again.  The whole atmosphere of game day in Auburn is worth the wait all year.  We have really enjoyed watching our team actually score some points this year.  I am proud of how hard our team has fought so far.  Just minutes before the West Virginia game it poured to say the least.  We were "under" a tent, which didn't help much since the rain was coming in sideways and the top was blowing off.  We got soaked, but that just added to our fun!  It was all worth it since we ended up winning.  So far we are undefeated, and Mark and I are traveling to Knoxville this weekend to watch Auburn beat the Vols!

In other news, I ran my 5K for the Humane Society.  I felt awful for some reason, but still somehow got a PR (since high school) coming in just under 25 minutes.  I placed third in my age group!  This race was extra special because there were a ton of dogs there and Bentley got to come watch me!  He was quite the hit!  Everyone loved him and was taking pictures of him.  One lady runs a website and B-dog's picture will be featured on it soon.  I'll post a link as soon as he's up there.  It was so fun having Bentley and Mark cheering me on.  I love my boys!

What a fun win!
Soaked and still smiling!  I think the beer helped!
Celebrating with my buddy!
Aren't we cute??

Memorable Weekend

Last weekend I accomplished something I've wanted to do for a long time.  Mark and I ran a half marathon!!  We decided to do a Rock N Roll Series marathon because they sound like so much fun with live bands along the course.  We chose the one in Virginia Beach.  We are not at all hard core runners, and we by no means followed any pre-race rules.  We flew into Virginia Beach Saturday night and headed to a sports bar to watch football.  I doubt bar food and beer is recommended the night before a half marathon.  We had to wake up at 5am for a 7am race start.  The course was flat and shaded, and we couldn't have asked for a more fun atmosphere.  We made it to mile 11 before we started to get really tired.  The last mile was along the beach so the scenery helped provide some inspiration!  I finished right around 2 hours and Mark was close behind me at 2 hours and 10 minutes.  We were so proud of us!  We had such a great time that we're already in the process of planning our next marathon adventure!

That night we enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner and then went to a Black Crowes concert right on the beach.  Afterwards we had a nice surprise of fireworks and we saw the end of a Lone Star concert.

The next day the rain ruined our plans for Busch Gardens, so we went to the Virginia Aquarium.  I love sea creatures and Mark loves IMAX movies, so we had a great time!  We had such a great dinner our last night at a brewery.  Mark enjoyed a few beers and I got my favorite drink, a strawberry mojito.

We missed Bentley, but he had a great time with his girlfriend, Lilly.  He had her over for a sleepover Friday night and then they spent the rest of the weekend at her house!  Thanks Rob and Jenny!
Enjoying some much deserved beer
Waiting on the beach for the concert
Relaxing in the park and icing down our tired legs

We did it!
Mark's about to cross the finish line!
About to cross the start line
16,000 finishers
I wasn't exactly thrilled at 6am.

Paws for the Cause

If you know me at all, you know how much I love animals.  I wish I could adopt every sweet animal in need of a good home.  I'm running a 5K in a couple weeks for Paws for the Cause, which is an organization that helps the Shelby County Humane Society.  I know times are tough right now, but any donation would be greatly appreciated.  Always remember to donate supplies whenever you can also.  Here is a link to my fundraising site:

Thanks for helping, and I'll let you know how the race goes!

Weekend in Nashville

Even though I had a million things to do at school this weekend, we decided to go to Nashville for my niece, Bridget's, fourth birthday party!  It was definitely worth it!  We got to spend Saturday night relaxing and cooking out with David and Stephanie.  Sunday morning we had a fun breakfast at Pancake Pantry, got to see the new house they are remodeling and then headed out to the lake for the birthday party!  Bridget was able to debut her bathing suit she had been saving for this special occasion.  She had so many fun friends show up, and they had a great time swimming in the pool and going for boat rides.  We really enjoyed spending time with David and Stephanie and my sweet nieces, and we hated to leave.  Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Unfortunately, our nephew, Currin, shares a birthday weekend with Bridget.  This is also the weekend before school starts, so it's impossible to do everything.  We were sorry we had to miss Currin's birthday, and I can't wait to see pictures from his airplane party!
