Paws for the Cause

If you know me at all, you know how much I love animals.  I wish I could adopt every sweet animal in need of a good home.  I'm running a 5K in a couple weeks for Paws for the Cause, which is an organization that helps the Shelby County Humane Society.  I know times are tough right now, but any donation would be greatly appreciated.  Always remember to donate supplies whenever you can also.  Here is a link to my fundraising site:

Thanks for helping, and I'll let you know how the race goes!

Weekend in Nashville

Even though I had a million things to do at school this weekend, we decided to go to Nashville for my niece, Bridget's, fourth birthday party!  It was definitely worth it!  We got to spend Saturday night relaxing and cooking out with David and Stephanie.  Sunday morning we had a fun breakfast at Pancake Pantry, got to see the new house they are remodeling and then headed out to the lake for the birthday party!  Bridget was able to debut her bathing suit she had been saving for this special occasion.  She had so many fun friends show up, and they had a great time swimming in the pool and going for boat rides.  We really enjoyed spending time with David and Stephanie and my sweet nieces, and we hated to leave.  Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Unfortunately, our nephew, Currin, shares a birthday weekend with Bridget.  This is also the weekend before school starts, so it's impossible to do everything.  We were sorry we had to miss Currin's birthday, and I can't wait to see pictures from his airplane party!

Best Friends

My friend, Jenny, and I have enjoyed walking our dogs together this summer.  They are BEST friends, and they walk, swim, and play so well together.  I have had a lot of fun chatting with Jenny on our walks.  Bentley and I can't wait for next summer, but hopefully we'll get together throughout the school year!

Here We Go...

Well, I've been wanting to start a blog for such a long time now, since I love reading other people's blogs.  Hopefully I'll do a good job of keeping up with it!  Mark and I have been married four fun years, and we have an adorable yellow lab named Bentley.  We have Bentley to thank for many laughs and long walks together!

Today is my last day of summer.  We had so much fun going to weddings, Hilton Head, the lake, and visiting with family.  Even though school is starting back, I'm looking forward to football games and even a 1/2 marathon over Labor Day weekend.

I'm off to enjoy a long walk with Bentley and take full advantage of my last day of freedom!  There aren't many pictures of the three of us together, so I just posted our Christmas card picture from last year!
